This is a list of the exchange-traded funds QuantumOnline tracks. An ETF holds a portfolio of securities and trades on an exchange like a single stock, most commonly tracking a published index rather than being actively managed.
The structural difference from a closed-end fund matters: ETF shares are continuously created and redeemed by authorised participants, which keeps the market price tethered closely to net asset value. Where a CEF can trade at a 12% discount for years, an ETF normally tracks NAV within a fraction of a percent.

When an ETF's price drifts above the value of its holdings, authorised participants create new shares by delivering the underlying basket and sell them into the market, pushing the price back down. When it drifts below, they buy shares and redeem them for the basket. This arbitrage runs continuously and is what keeps tracking tight.
The mechanism works well for liquid holdings and less well for thinly traded ones. ETFs holding illiquid corporate bonds or emerging-market securities can see tracking loosen noticeably during market stress, exactly when it matters most.
Several categories are directly relevant to income investors: preferred stock ETFs holding baskets of the same securities on our preferred lists, corporate and high-yield bond ETFs, dividend-focused equity ETFs screening for yield or dividend growth, and Treasury ETFs across the maturity range.
A preferred ETF offers instant diversification across hundreds of issues and removes the need to analyse individual call provisions. What you give up is exactly that control — you cannot avoid an issue trading above its call price, and the fund's yield is an average that includes securities you might not choose.
An ETF's expense ratio is deducted from returns daily and is the most reliable predictor of relative performance among funds tracking the same index. On an income portfolio the effect is direct: a 0.45% expense ratio on a 5.5% gross yield leaves 5.05%.
Comparing two ETFs tracking the same index, the cheaper one wins nearly all the time. Comparing across different indexes, understand what the index actually holds before comparing yields.

QuantumOnline has tracked exchange-traded income securities since 1997. Every security in this list is researched and maintained by hand from the issuer's prospectus and SEC filings, not scraped from a vendor feed. Where a figure is unavailable we show "n.a." rather than guessing.
Information is believed to be accurate but is not guaranteed, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell. Always confirm terms against the issuer's prospectus before investing.
