Fund Description: TCW Strategic Income Fund, Inc. is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to seek total investment returns comprised of current income and capital appreciation . TSI has the ability to invest in a mix of fixed income and equity investments including mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, value and growth equities, convertible securities, high yield bonds, and equity investments in collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). TSI will shift and reallocate its investments on an opportunistic basis and may invest in additional asset classes other than those identified above. TSI may also employ leverage up to 33% of its total assets (including assets purchased with borrowings). Dividends are declared and paid quarterly in accordance with TSI's managed distribution plan under which TSI will distribute a cash dividend equal to 7% of its net asset value from the previous year end on an annualized basis. TSI intends to distribute to shareholders substantially all of its net realized capital gains at least annually, to the extent required for US federal income tax purposes.
