Fund Description: Firsthand Technology Value Fund, Inc. is an exchange-traded closed-end fund (CEF) or a closed-end ETF that is officially described as a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company that intends to be treated as a business development company. <p> INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The Firsthand Technology Value Fund, Inc. seeks long-term growth of capital. <p> FUND STRATEGY: Under normal circumstances, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its total assets for investment purposes in technology companies that derive at least 50% of their revenues from products and/or services within the information technology sector or the so-called cleantech sector. Information technology companies include, but are not limited to, those focused on computer hardware, software, telecommunications, networking, Internet, and consumer electronics. The Fund's portfolio includes companies in the advanced materials, semiconductor, social networking, and solar energy industries which can change. The Fund seek investments in companies that possess: game-changing technology, barriers to entry (i.e., patents and other defensible intellectual property rights), experienced management team, established financial sponsors that have a history of creating value with portfolio companies, strong competitive industry position, and a viable exit strategy. <p> FUND MANAGEMENT: Firsthand Capital Management, Inc. serves as the Investment Adviser to the Fund.
