Fund Description: iShares 0-5 Year Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the iShares Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The iShares 0-5 Year Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF seeks to track the investment results of the Markit iBoxx USD Liquid Investment Grade 0-5 Index composed of U.S. dollar-denominated, investment-grade corporate bonds with remaining maturities of less than five years. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The Markit iBoxx USD Liquid Investment Grade 0-5 Index is designed to reflect the performance of U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade corporate debt. The Index offers exposure to liquid corporate bonds maturing between zero and five years and is rebalanced on a monthly basis. Only bonds from large issuers with at least $1 billion in aggregate outstanding issuance and $500 million face value per bond are included in the Index. The Index uses a market-value weighted methodology with a cap on each issuer of 3%. Components primarily include consumer goods, financial, healthcare and oil and gas companies. The components of the Index, and the degree to which these components represent certain industries, may change over time. FUND STRATEGY: A passive or indexing approach is used to try to achieve the Fund’s investment objective. Unlike many investment companies, the Fund does not try to beat the index it tracks and does not seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear overvalued. Indexing may eliminate the chance that the Fund will substantially outperform the Index but also may reduce some of the risks of active management, such as poor security selection. Indexing seeks to achieve lower costs and better after-tax performance by keeping portfolio turnover low in comparison to actively managed investment companies. Using a representative sampling indexing strategy to manage the Fund is a strategy that involves investing in a representative sample of securities that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The securities selected are expected to have, in the aggregate, investment characteristics (based on factors such as market capitalization and industry weightings), fundamental characteristics (such as return variability, duration, maturity or credit ratings and yield) and liquidity measures similar to those of the Index. The Fund generally invests at least 90% of its assets in the securities of the Index and in investments that provide substantially similar exposure to the securities in the Index. However, the Fund may at times invest up to 20% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, including money market funds FUND MANAGEMENT: BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) serves as the investment adviser to the Fund.
Notes: January 5, 2016 -- BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE: BLK) plans to change the primary listing venue from NYSEA to the NASDAQ exchange. The Fund is scheduled to move on or about February 2nd, 2016.
