Fund Description: First Trust SMID Cap Rising Dividend Achievers ETF is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VI, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The First Trust SMID Cap Rising Dividend Achievers ETF seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield, before the Fund's fees and expenses, of the NASDAQ US Small Mid Cap Rising Dividend Achievers Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The NASDAQ US Small Mid Cap Rising Dividend Achievers Index is composed of the securities of 100 small and mid cap companies with a history of raising their dividends and exhibit the characteristics to continue to do so in the future. The Index is designed to provide access to a portfolio of small and mid capitalization income producing securities. The Index is designed to provide access to a diversified portfolio of small and mid cap companies with a history of paying dividends. The Index Provider defines small and mid cap companies as those in the bottom 25% of total market capitalization in the NASDAQ US Benchmark Index, a float adjusted market capitalization-weighted index designed to track the performance of U.S. equity securities. The Index methodology also considers each company’s earnings growth and compares the level of cash held by the company with its debt profile. The Index is rebalanced quarterly. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its net assets (including investment borrowings) in common stocks that comprise the Index.
