Fund Description: ALPS Sector Dividend Dogs ETF is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of ALPS ETF Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The ALPS Sector Dividend Dogs ETF seeks investment results that correspond, before fees and expenses, generally to the price and yield performance of the S-Network Sector Dividend Dogs Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The S-Network Sector Dividend Dogs Index is a rules-based index intended to give investors a means of tracking the overall performance of the highest dividend paying stocks (i.e. Dividend Dogs) in the S&P 500 on a sector-by-sector basis. The Index generally consists of 50 stocks on each annual reconstitution date, which is the third Friday of December each year. The Index’s stocks must be constituents of the S&P 500 Index, the leading benchmark index for US large capitalization stocks. The Index methodology selects the five stocks in each of the ten GICS sectors that make up the S&P 500 which offer the highest dividend yields as of the last business day of November. Dividend yield is computed based on the regular cash dividends paid by the company over the previous twelve month period, divided by the share price. The eligible stocks that are selected for inclusion in the Index’s portfolio are equally weighted. If a GICS sector does not contain five stocks which offer dividend yields as computed in the manner described above, then only those stocks in the sector which offer such dividend yields will be included in the Index. The Index is rebalanced quarterly. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund generally will invest in all of the securities that comprise the Index in proportion to their weightings in the Index. However, under various circumstances, it may not be possible or practicable to purchase all of the securities in the Index in those weightings. In those circumstances, the Fund may purchase a sample of the securities in the Index in proportions expected to replicate generally the performance of the Index as a whole. There may also be instances in which the Adviser may choose to overweight another security in the Index, purchase (or sell) securities not in the Index which is believed are appropriate to substitute for one or more Index components or utilize various combinations of other available investment techniques, in seeking to replicate the Index. The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in the shares of the component equity securities that comprise the Index. The Fund may invest its remaining assets in money market instruments, including repurchase agreements or other funds which invest exclusively in money market instruments, convertible securities, structured notes (notes on which the amount of principal repayment and interest payments are based on the movement of one or more specified factors, such as the movement of a particular stock or stock index), forward foreign currency exchange contracts and in swaps, options and futures contracts. FUND MANAGEMENT: ALPS Advisors, Inc. will serve as the Investment Adviser to the Fund.
