ProShares 30 Year TIPS/TSY Spread ETF
Fund Description: ProShares Inflation Expectations ETF, formerly ProShares 30 Year TIPS/TSY Spread ETF, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the ProShares Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The ProShares Inflation Expectations ETF seeks investment results, before fees and expenses, that track the performance of the Citi 30-Year TIPS (Treasury Rate-Hedged) Index, formerly Dow Jones Credit Suisse 30-Year Inflation Breakeven Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The Citi 30-Year TIPS (Treasury Rate-Hedged) Index tracks the performance of long positions in the most recently issued 30-year Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) and duration-adjusted short positions in U.S. Treasury bonds of, in aggregate, approximate equivalent duration to the TIPS. The Index seeks to achieve an overall effective duration of zero. The difference in yield (or spread) between these bonds (Treasury yield minus TIPS yield) is commonly referred to as a breakeven rate of inflation. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund, under normal circumstances, seeks to remain fully exposed to the Index and will invest at least 80% of its total assets in securities of the Index. In addition, the Fund will invest in derivatives and other fixed income securities that ProShare Advisors believes, in combination, should track the performance of the Index. Cash balances arising from the use of derivatives or short positions will typically be held in money market instruments. Using a mathematical approach to investing, ProShare Advisors determines the type, quantity and mix of investment positions that the Fund should hold to approximate the performance of the Index. The Fund may gain exposure to only a representative sample of the securities in the Index, which is intended to have aggregate characteristics similar to those of the Index. The Fund seeks to remain fully invested at all times in securities and/or derivatives that, in combination, provide exposure to the Index without regard to market conditions, trends or direction. FUND MANAGEMENT: ProShare Advisors serves as the investment adviser to the Fund.
