Business: Rhino Resource Partners LP is a master limited partnership (MLP) that is focused on coal, oil and gas, and related infrastructure. They are a diversified energy MLP that produces coal in multiple basins in the United States. They produce steam coal that is used to produce electricity and metallurgical coal that is used in the steel-making process. They controlled an estimated 463.7 million tons of proven and probable coal reserves and 417.4 million tons of non-reserve coal deposits. They also manage the mining operations of their West Virginia joint venture, Rhino Eastern LLC, in which they have a 51% membership interest and which controlled an additional 43.1 million tons of proven and probable coal reserves. They also have a coal leasing business and oil and gas investments in the Utica Shale and Cana Woodford regions that provide additional cash flows to their business.
