Fund Description: John Hancock Premium Dividend Fund, formerly the John Hancock Patriot Premium Dividend Fund II, is an exchange-traded closed-end fund or a closed-end ETF which is officially described as a diversified, closed-end management investment company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The Fund's investment objective seeks to provide a high level of current income consistent with modest growth of capital for holders of its common shares. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of dividend paying preferred and common equity securities. The Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in dividend paying securities. The Fund normally will invest at least 25% of its managed assets in securities of companies in the utilities industry. The Fund invests in sectors, such as utilities, financials, energy, telecommunication services, consumer staples, industrials, consumer discretionary and short-term investments.
