Fund Description: John Hancock Multifactor Small Cap ETF is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the John Hancock Exchange-Traded Fund Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The John Hancock Multifactor Small Cap ETF seeks to provide investment returns that closely correspond to the price and yield performance of the John Hancock Dimensional Small Cap Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The John Hancock Dimensional Small Cap Index is a rules-based index of small-cap U.S. stocks that have been selected based on sources of expected returns. Securities eligible for inclusion in the index are classified according to their market capitalization, as defined by free-float market cap; relative price, as defined by price/book; and profitability, as defined by operating income over book. Companies with the lowest profitability and highest relative price are excluded from the index, and holdings are weighted according to their market capitalization. The Index is reconstituted and rebalanced on a semiannual basis. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in securities that compose the Index. The Fund, using an indexing investment approach, attempts to approximate the investment performance of the Index by investing in a portfolio of securities that generally replicates the Index. FUND MANAGEMENT: John Hancock Advisers, LLC serves as the investment advisor to the Fund. Dimensional Fund Advisors LP serves as the sub-advisor to the Fund.
