Fund Description: iShares U.S. Basic Materials ETF, formerly iShares Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Sector Index Fund, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the iShares Trust, an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The iShares U.S. Basic Materials ETF seeks investment results that correspond to the performance of the basic materials economic sector of the U.S. equity market as reflected by the Dow Jones Basic Materials Sector Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index is a subset of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index. The Index is capitalization-weighted and includes only companies in the Basic Materials industry of the Dow Jones U.S. Total Market Index. The component stocks are weighted according to the total market value of their outstanding shares. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund pays out dividends to investors at least annually and may pay them on a more frequent basis. The Fund distributes its net capital gains, if any, to investors annually. FUND MANAGEMENT: BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) serves as the investment adviser to the Fund.
