iShares MSCI USA Index Fund
Fund Description: iShares MSCI USA ETF, formerly iShares MSCI USA Index Fund, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the iShares Inc., an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The iShares MSCI USA ETF seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the MSCI USA Equal Weighted Index, formerly the MSCI USA Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The MSCI USA Equal Weighted Index represents an alternative weighting scheme to its market capitalization-weighted parent index, the MSCI USA Index (the Parent Index), which is designed to measure the performance of equity securities in the top 85% by market capitalization of equity securities listed on stock exchanges in the United States. The Index generally applies equal weights to the constituents of the Parent Index. The Index may include large-, mid- or small-capitalization companies, and components primarily include consumer discretionary, financials and information technology companies which may change over time. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund generally invests at least 90% of its assets in the securities of the Index and in depositary receipts representing securities of the Index. A passive or indexing approach is used to try to achieve the Fund's investment objective. Unlike many investment companies, it does not try to beat the index it tracks and does not seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear overvalued. The Fund uses representative samples of securities that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The Fund may invest the remainder of its assets in other securities, including securities not in the Index, futures contracts, options on futures contracts, other types of options and swaps related to its Index, as well as cash and cash equivalents, including shares of money market funds. FUND MANAGEMENT: BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) serves as the investment adviser to the Fund.
