Fund Description: iShares Edge MSCI Multifactor Emerging Markets ETF, formerly iShares FactorSelect MSCI Emerging ETF, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of iShares, Inc., an open-end investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The iShares Edge MSCI Multifactor Emerging Markets ETF seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the MSCI Emerging Market Diversified Multiple-Factor Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The MSCI Emerging Market Diversified Multiple-Factor Index is designed to select equity securities from MSCI Emerging Markets Index (the Parent Index) that have high exposure to four investment style factors: value, quality, momentum and low size, while maintaining a level of risk similar to that of the Parent Index. The Index is also constrained in its construction to limit turnover and extreme exposures to particular sectors, countries, component weights or other investment style factors. The Index consisted of companies from the following countries: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The Index may include large- and mid-capitalization companies and components primarily include consumer discretionary, financials, industrials and information technology companies. The components of the Index, and the degree to which these components represent certain industries/countries, are likely to change over time. In seeking to track the investment results of the Indian securities included in the Index, the Fund invests a portion of its assets in the Underlying Funds (the iShares MSCI India ETF and/or the iShares India 50 ETF). FUND STRATEGY: A passive or indexing approach is used to try to achieve the Fund's investment objective. Unlike many investment companies the Fund does not try to beat the Index and does not seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear overvalued. Indexing may eliminate the chance that the Fund will substantially outperform its Index but also may reduce some of the risks of active management, such as poor security selection. Indexing seeks to achieve lower costs and better after-tax performance by keeping portfolio turnover low in comparison to actively managed investment companies. Representative sampling is an indexing strategy that is used which involves investing in a representative sample of securities that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index. The securities selected are expected to have, in the aggregate, investment characteristics (based on factors such as market capitalization and industry weightings), fundamental characteristics (such as return variability and yield) and liquidity measures similar to those of the Index. A Fund may or may not hold all of the securities in the Index. The Fund generally invests at least 90% of its assets in securities of the Index and in depositary receipts representing securities of the Index and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, including shares of money market funds. The Fund may invest all of its assets that are invested in India through a wholly owned subsidiary located in the Republic of Mauritius or indirectly through a wholly owned Mauritius subsidiary of an Underlying Fund (each, a Subsidiary). FUND MANAGEMENT: BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) serves as the investment adviser to both the Fund, the Underlying Funds, and each Subsidiary.
