Fund Description: Global X MSCI China Communication Services ETF , formerly Global X China Technology ETF, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the Global X Funds, an investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The Global X MSCI China Communication Services ETF seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the MSCI China Communication Services 10/50 Index, formerly NASDAQ OMX China Technology Index, formerly S-BOX China Technology Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The MSCI China Communication Services 10/50 Index is designed to capture the large- and mid-capitalization segments of securities included in the MSCI China Index that are classified in the Communication Services Sector as per the Global Industry ClassificationStandard. The Index incorporates all eligible securities as per MSCI’s Global Investable Market Index Methodology, including China A, B and H shares, Red chips, P chips and foreign listings (e.g., American Depository Receipts). Additionally, the Index utilizes a 10/50 concentration constraint whereby the weight of each group entity in the Index is capped at 10% and the cumulative weight of all group entities with a weight in excess of 5% does not exceed 50% of the Index by weight. FUND STRATEGY: A passive or indexing approach is used to try to achieve each Fund’s investment objective. Unlike many investment companies, the Funds do not try to beat the Index and do not seek temporary defensive positions when markets decline or appear overvalued. Each Fund will normally invest at least 80% of its total assets in the securities of the Index and in American Depositary Receipts, Global Depositary Receipts and European Depositary Receipts based on the securities in the Index. Each Fund may also invest up to 20% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts (which may be leveraged and are considered derivatives), cash and cash equivalents, as well as in stocks not included in its Index, but which believes will help the Fund track its Index. Each Fund will use a replication strategy. A replication strategy is an indexing strategy that involves investing in the securities of the Index in approximately the same proportions as in the Index. However, the Funds may utilize a representative sampling strategy with respect to its Index when a replication strategy might be detrimental to its shareholders, such as when there are practical difficulties or substantial costs involved in compiling a portfolio of equity securities to follow its Index, in instances when a security in an Index become temporarily illiquid, unavailable or less liquid, or due to legal restrictions (such as diversification requirements that apply to the Funds but not the Indexes). FUND MANAGEMENT: Global X Management Company LLC serves as the investment adviser and the administrator for the Fund, subject to the supervision of the Board of Trustees.
