Fund Description: VanEck Vectors Africa Index ETF, formerly Market Vectors - Africa Index ETF, is an exchange-traded index fund or Index ETF which is a separate investment portfolio of the VanEck Vectors ETF Trust, an open-ended investment management company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The VanEck Vectors Africa Index ETF seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the MVIS GDP Africa Index, formerly Market Vectors GDP Africa Index, formerly Dow Jones Africa Titans 50 Index. INDEX DESCRIPTION: The MVIS GDP Africa Index includes local listings of companies that are incorporated in Africa and offshore listings of companies incorporated outside of Africa but that generate at least 50% of their revenues (or, where applicable, have at least 50% of their assets) in Africa. Such companies may include small- and medium-capitalization companies. Subject to country and issuer limitations, the country weightings in the Africa Index are based on their relative gross domestic product (GDP) weights as compared to all other countries represented in the Africa Index. FUND STRATEGY: The Fund, utilizes a passive or indexing investment approach, attempts to approximate the investment performance of the Index by investing in a portfolio of securities that replicates the Index. The Fund normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities that comprise the Fund’s Index. Generally, the Fund will hold all of the securities that comprise the Index in proportion to their weightings in the Index. However, under various circumstances, it may not be possible or practicable to purchase all of those securities in these weightings. In these circumstances, the Fund may purchase a sample of securities in the Index. There also may be instances in which the Adviser may choose to overweight a security in the Index, purchase securities not in the Index that is believed appropriate to substitute for certain securities in the Index or utilize various combinations of other available investment techniques in seeking to replicate as closely as possible the price and yield performance of the Index. The Fund may sell securities that are represented in the Index in anticipation of their removal from the Index or purchase securities not represented in the Index in anticipation of their addition to the Index. The Fund may also utilize derivative instruments, such as swaps, options, warrants, futures contracts, currency forwards (and convertible securities and structured notes), and participation notes to seek performance that corresponds to the Index. For these purposes, depositary receipts, derivative instruments and participation notes will count towards the 80% investment policy. FUND MANAGEMENT: Van Eck Associates Corp. serves as the adviser to the Fund.
