Notes: April 20, 2007 -- Van Kampen Income Trust (NYSE/CHX: VIN), a diversified closed-end management investment company, announced today that the Board of Trustees of the Fund has approved the liquidation and dissolution of the Fund pursuant to a Plan of Liquidation and Dissolution adopted by the Board of Trustees. The Fund announced that the stock transfer books of the Fund will be closed and the Fund will cease trading on the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Stock Exchange upon the close of business on April 30, 2007, the effective date of the Plan. As of that time, shareholders' respective interests in the Fund's assets will be fixed and will not be transferable. The Fund will begin the orderly liquidation of its assets as of the Effective Date, in accordance with the Plan. The Fund will pay one or more liquidating distributions. Shareholders of record as of the Effective Date will receive their liquidating distribution or distributions as soon as practicable after the liquidation of the Fund's assets.
