FUND DESCRIPTION: Nuveen Insured Premium Income Municipal Fund 2 is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks current income exempt from regular Federal income tax. The secondary objective is the enhancement of portfolio value relative to the municipal bond market through investments in tax-exempt Municipal Obligations. The Fund will invest substantially all of its assets in tax-exempt Municipal Obligations which are either covered by insurance guaranteeing the timely payment of principal and interest thereon or backed by an escrow or trust account containing sufficient U.S. Government or U.S. Government agency securities to ensure timely payment of principal and interest. Municipal Obligations backed by an escrow or trust account will not constitute more than 20% of the Fund's assets. The Fund may employ certain trading strategies such as financial futures and options. The Fund may leverage itself through the issuance of preferred stock. The Fund's investment advisor is Nuveen Advisory Corp.

Notes: April 8, 2013 - Nuveen Investments, a leading global provider of investment services to institutions as well as individual investors, today announced that shareholders of certain National municipal bond closed-end funds approved a merger. The merger is intended to create a single, larger fund with lower operating expenses and increased trading volume on the exchange for its common shares. Subject to the satisfaction of certain customary closing conditions, the reorganization is expected to close prior to the opening of the New York Stock Exchange on May 6, 2013. In connection with the shareholder approval, the following funds will be merged into NEA: Nuveen Premier Municipal Opportunity Fund, Inc.
