QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION:  Credit Suisse First Boston, Five-Year Contingent Protection Securities, due 9/30/2008, linked to the value of the S&P 500 Index and issued at $1000 principal amount per security. The holder will receive no payments prior to maturity and the notes are not callable prior to maturity. At the maturity date of 9/30/2008 the holder will receive a cash payment that will be a minimum of the $1000 principal amount plus an index return based on the return of the S&P 500 Index (initial value 995.97 as of 9/30/2003) over the 5 year term of the notes, if the S&P 500 Index remains at all times above the Loss of Protection Trigger of 58% of the initial value. If the value of the S&P 500 Index falls below the 58% trigger, the holder will receive an index return based on the change in the value of the S&P 500 Index at the maturity date of the notes which can be positive or negative.
