Oct. 26, 2004--Edison International today announced that it intends to redeem on Nov. 30, 2004 all of the EIX Trust II 8.60% Cumulative Quarterly Income Preferred Securities, Series B, for a redemption price of 100% of the principal amount, plus accrued interest to the redemption date. The QUIPS are listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION: EIX Trust II, 8.60% Cumulative Quarterly Income Preferred Securities, Series B (QUIPS), liquidation amount $25.00, guaranteed by Edison Intl (NYSE: EIX), redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 10/29/2004 at $25 per share plus accrued and unpaid dividends, maturing 10/29/2029 which may be extended to 10/29/2048, distributions of 8.60% per annum are paid quarterly on 2/28, 5/31, 8/31 & 11/30 to holders of record one business day prior to the payment date. The company has the right, at any time, to defer interest payments for up to 20 consecutive quarters (see IPO prospectus for details). The trust's assets consist of the 8.60% Subordinated Deferrable Interest Notes, Series B due 10/29/2029 which were purchased from the company using the funds generated from the sale of the trust preferred securities.
