Dec 09, 2003 -- CIT today announced that on January 15, 2004 CIT will redeem for cash, its 8.25% Senior Public Income Notes (PINES, NYSE Ticker: CIP), trading under the name Capita Corporation, formerly known as AT&T Capital Corporation. The redemption price will be equal to 100% of the principal amount redeemed plus accrued and unpaid interest to but excluding the date of redemption. Currently, $512.5 million of this security is outstanding.

(not affiliated with AT&T Corp.), 8.25% Senior Public Income NotES (PINES), due 2028, issued in $25 denominations, guaranteed by CIT Group Inc, formerly Newcourt Credit Group Inc., redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 11/15/2003 at $25 per share plus accrued and unpaid interest, maturing 11/15/2028, distributions of 8.25% ($2.0625) per annum are paid quarterly on 1/15, 4/15, 7/15 & 10/15 to holders of record 15 calendar days prior to the payment date. The PINES are general unsecured, unsubordinated obligations of the Company and are guaranteed as to the payment of princiapl and interest by Newcourt Credit Group Inc. The PINES are expected to trade flat, which means accrued interest will be reflected in the trading price and the purchasers will not pay and the sellers will not receive any accrued and unpaid interest.
