3/7/04 We were informed by a user that he has received a call notice on AFG-T for 3/5/2004. We can find no confirming news release on the call but the above call information looks correct. Jan 28, 2004 -- American Financial Group, Inc. announced today the offering of $100 million of 7-1/8% Senior Debentures due February 3, 2034. The net proceeds from the offering will be used to redeem all of the $95.5 million liquidation amount outstanding of American Financial Capital Trust I 9-1/8% preferred securities. Thirty-day call notices will be mailed early in February.

QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION: American Financial Capital Trust I, 9 1/8% Trust Originated Preferred Securities (TOPrS), liquidation amount $25 per share, guaranteed by American Financial Group (NYSE: AFG), redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 10/22/2001 at $25 per share plus accrued and unpaid dividends, maturing 10/15/2026 which may be extended to 10/15/2045, distributions of 9 1/8% per annum are paid quarterly on 1/15, 4/15, 7/15 & 10/15 to holders of record one business day prior to the payment date while the securities remain in global form. The company has the right, at any time, to defer dividend payments for up to 20 consecutive quarters (but not beyond the maturity date). The trust's assets consist of the 9 1/8% Subordinated Deferrable Interest Debentures due 10/15/2026 which may be extended to 10/15/2045, which were purchased from the company using the funds generated from the sale of the trust preferred securities.
