FUND DESCRIPTION: BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust, formerly BlackRock Enhanced Dividend Achievers Trust, is an exchange-traded closed-end fund or a closed-end ETF which is officially described as a diversified, closed-end management investment company. INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE: The BlackRock Enhanced Equity Dividend Trust seeks to provide current income and current gains, with a secondary investment objective of long-term capital appreciation. TRUST STRATEGY: Under normal market conditions, the Trust will invest at least 80% of its total assets in common stocks of issuers that pay dividends. From time to time, the Trust may invest up to 20% of its total assets in common stocks of issuers that that do not pay dividends. As part of its investment strategy, the Trust intends to employ a strategy of writing (selling) covered call and put options on individual common stocks, indices of securities, sectors of securities and baskets of securities. This option strategy is intended to generate current gains from option premiums as a means to enhance distributions payable to the Trust's shareholders.
