BUSINESS: The Credit Suisse X-Links™ Monthly Pay 2xLeveraged Mortgage REIT ETNs (exchange traded notes) are senior, unsecured debt securities issued by Credit Suisse AG that provide a monthly compounded 2x leveraged long exposure to the price return version of the FTSE NAREIT All Mortgage Capped Index). The price return version of the Index does not reflect the value of reinvested cash dividends or distributions; rather, such cash dividends or distributions of the Index Constituents, if any, are reflected in the variable monthly coupon that may be paid to investors of the ETN. The Index measures the performance of tax-qualified U.S. mortgage REITs with more than 50% of total assets invested in mortgage loans or mortgage-backed securities secured by interests in real property, as selected and ranked by FTSE International Limited, in accordance with the Index methodology. Each Index Constituent must, among other requirements as described therein, be a tax-qualified mortgage REIT that is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the NYSE Arca or the NASDAQ.
