QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION:  CHS, Inc., formerly the Cenex Harvest States Cooperatives, 8.00% Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock, liquidation preference $25 per share, redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 7/18/2023 (see note) at $25 per share plus accrued and unpaid dividends, and with no stated maturity. Distributions of 8.00% per annum are paid quarterly on 3/31, 6/30, 9/30 & 12/31 to holders of record five business days prior to the payment date (NOTE: the ex-dividend date is one business day prior to the record date). Dividends paid by this preferred security are eligible for the preferential income tax rate of 15% to a maximum of 20% depending on the holder's tax bracket (and under IRS specified holding restrictions) and are also eligible for the dividends received deduction for corporate holders. In regards to payment of dividends and upon liquidation, the preferred shares rank equally with other preferreds and senior to the common shares of the company. Notes:  From the Form 8-K filed with the SEC on 7/19/2013 -- The Board of Directors of CHS Inc. adopted a resolution, which became effective on July 18, 2013, amending the terms of the Company's existing 8% Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock to provide that the 8% Preferred Stock may not be redeemed at the option of the Company until July 18, 2023. Prior to the effectiveness of the Resolution, the 8% Preferred Stock had been subject to redemption at the option of the Company from and after February 1, 2008.
