FUND DESCRIPTION: The BlackRock Strategic Term Trust is a diversified, actively managed closed-end bond fund. The Trust’s investment objective is to return $10 per share (its initial offering price) to shareholders on or shortly before December 31, 2002. Although there can be no guarantee, BlackRock believes that the Trust can achieve its investment objective. The Trust invests in investment grade fixed income securities, including corporate debt securities, mortgage-backed securities, U.S. Government and agency securities, asset-backed securities and commercial mortgage-backed securities. All of the Trust’s assets must be rated at least BBB by Standard & Poor’s or Baa by Moody’s at time of purchase or be issued or guaranteed by the U.S. Government or its agencies. BlackRock Advisors is the Trust's investment advisor and BlackRock Advisors' affiliate, BlackRock Financial Management, provides certain day-to-day investment management services to the Trust.
