Stock Exchange, SEC, Credit Rating, and Other Useful Income Investor Website Links

This page offers links to some investment information web sites that we believe are the best and most useful of the investment information sites available on the Internet. The commercial sites offer free investor information and often offer additional investment information to subscribers. The descriptions below describe only the free information that is available.

New York Stock Exchange
Provides a wide variety of information on the statistics, activities and workings of the New York Stock Exchange itself. Provides individual quotes on New York Stock Exchange listed stocks plus a limited amount of information on the individual companies.

NASDAQ Stock Market
The site provides a wide variety of information on the statistics, activities and workings of the NASDAQ itself. Provides comprehensive single or multiple quotes for all stocks on the NASDAQ, NYSE Amex or NYSE. Contrary to what you might expect, the site provides no information on the NASDAQ OTC Bulletin Board stocks. Their InfoQuotes provide price charts, company information, news, SEC filings, web site links, and other information on individual companies. The site is a significant source of investment information but is not as comprehensive as it might appear at first glance as many info links come up empty.

American Stock Exchange
Since the merger of the AMEX into the NYSE, the functions of the former AMEX web site have been merged into NYSE web site and is now termed the NYSE MKT.

NASDAQ OTC Bulletin Board
The site provides a variety of information on the statistics, activities and workings of the NASDAQ OTC Bulletin Board itself. They provide limited and spotty information on individual companies traded on the OTC Bulletin Board. Company information is limited to stocks that were trading on the Bulletin Board at the end of the previous year. The company information, if any, consists of company contact information and a summary of the previous year's trading activity.

Pink Sheets Website (OTCMarkets)
The former Pink Sheets website is now the OTCMarkets and provides pricing and financial information for the over-the-counter (OTC) securities markets. They provide a well presented and amazingly comprehensive array of quotes and a reasonable amount of information on stocks trading on the OYCQX, OTCQB, and Pink market. Overall, the site provides amazing good and up-to-date information on an array of stocks that is very difficult to keep up with. Pink Sheets LLC is a privately owned company headquartered in New York City.

SEC EDGAR System
All major U.S. public companies are required to file a variety of quarterly, annual, and special reports with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). The companies make these filings via the SEC's Electronic Data, Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system which is available to investor online courtesy of the SEC. The SEC's EDGAR system provides a very valuable (but very detailed) comprehensive source of information for investors. Unfortunately, information on an individual company is quite difficult to locate without extensive experience with the system. We definitely recommend using the SEC links we provide from our ticker search when looking for the SEC filings of an individual company.

Moodys.com
Standard & Poors
Moody's and Standard & Poors are the preferred sources for credit ratings on the Internet. Please note that the linked websites take you to the starting point to look up current credit ratings but are challenging to use and it takes a determined investor to successfully find their desired ratings but it is possible.

National Association of Investors Corp. (NAIC)
The National Association of Investors Corp. (NAIC) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization whose membership consists of investment clubs and individual investors. NAIC was founded in 1951 with a mission to provide a program of sound investment information, education and support that helps create successful, lifetime investors. NAIC's programs, services and products are designed to help individuals of all knowledge levels to become successful, long-term investors.

Investing In Bonds.com
This site is sponsored by The Bond Market Association, a financial-services industry group. The site lets users search for and obtain price information on different types of bonds. They provide guides to bond terminology and credit ratings and offer discussions of municipal, corporate and Treasury bonds.

Microsoft Money Central Investor
Under their "Research Central" MSN provides a good company profile plus addresses, telephone & fax numbers, web site links, and very basic company & financial information. They also offer a detailed quote, historical charts, and company news in their free information.

Quicken Business & Investing
Quicken offers a variety of general market news on the home page to keep you abreast of the latest financial market news.

Bank of New York, Depository Receipt Services
The Bank of New York offers an excellent web site for those interested in investing in foreign companies via depository receipts. The site lets you know what depository receipts are all about and provides a lot of information on what securities are available via ADR's.
