QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION:  Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., 100% Principal Protected Range Notes linked to the S&P 500 Index, due 10/6/2009, and issued at $10 per unit. The notes will receive no payments before maturity and are not redeemable prior to maturity. At maturity the holder will receive a minimum payment of 100% of the principal amount ($10 per note) plus a contingent supplemental payment which may be zero. If the value of the S&P 500 Index (starting value 1,209.18 on 9/25/2008) stays within the range of 1,493.34 or 23.50% above the starting value and 925.02 or 23.50% below the starting value, during the entire term of the notes, the contingent supplemental payment will be $1.00 or 10% of the principal amount. If, at any time during the term of the notes, the value of the index is not within the specified range, the contingent supplemental payment will be zero and the payment at maturity will be the $10.00 principal amount.
