FUND DESCRIPTION: Colonial New York Insured Municipal Fund is a nondiversified, closed-end management investment company that seeks, as its investment objective, to provide current income generally exempt from regular federal income tax and New York State and City personal income tax. At least 80% of the Fund's net assets will normally be invested in New York Municipal Obligations rated at least investment grade at the time of investment, or New York Municipal Obligations that are unrated but judged to be of comparable quality by the Fund's investment advisor. At least 65% of the Fund's total assets will normally be invested in New York Municipal Obligations that are covered by insurance guaranteeing the timely payment of principal at maturity and interest. Columbia Management Advisors, Inc. is the investment advisor of the Fund and also provides administrative and other services to the Fund.
