QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION: Ellington Financial Inc. formerly Arlington Asset Investment Corp. 6.00% Senior Notes due 2026 redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 08/01/2023 at $25 per note plus accrued and unpaid interest, and maturing 08/01/2026. Interest distributions of 6.0% per annum ($1.50 per annum or $0.375 per quarter) will be paid quarterly on 2/1, 5/1, 8/1 & 11/1 to holders of record on the record date that will be (NOTE: the ex-dividend date is one business day prior to the record date).
Distributions paid by these debt securities are interest and as such are NOT eligible for the preferential 15% to 20% tax rate on dividends and are also NOT eligible for the dividend received deduction for corporate holders. This security was not rated by Moody’s or S&P at the time of its IPO. The Notes are unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the company and will rank equally with all existing and future unsecured and unsubordinated indebtedness of the company. (NYSE: AI) announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a plan for the Company to elect to be taxed and to operate in a manner that will allow the Company to qualify as a real estate investment trust ("REIT") for U.S. federal income tax purposes commencing with the Company's taxable year ending December 31, 2019. ____________ The company has decided not to elect to be taxed as a real estate investment trust (REIT) under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.
