QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION: Navient Corp., formerly SLM Corp., Medium Term Notes, Series A, CPI-Linked Notes, due 3/15/2017, issued in $25 denominations. The notes are not redeemable, and mature on 3/15/2017. Adjustable rate distributions are paid monthly on 15th of each month. The initial interest rate is 5.256% and will be reset monthly. The interest rate will be the current CPI (Consumer Price Index) minus the CPI 12 months prior to the current CPI divided by the CPI 12 months prior to the current CPI plus the spread of 2.00%. The minimum interest rate will not be less than 0.00%. Distributions paid by these debt securities are interest and as such are NOT eligible for the preferential 15% to 20% tax rate on dividends and are also NOT eligible for the dividend received deduction for corporate holders. The notes are expected to trade flat, which means accrued interest will be reflected in the trading price and the purchasers will not pay and the sellers will not receive any accrued and unpaid interest. The Notes are unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the company and will rank equally with all existing and future unsecured and unsubordinated indebtedness of the company.
