On July 11, 2012, PPL Corporation gave notice to The Bank of New York Mellon, as Trustee, of PPL Capital Funding, Inc.'s election to redeem in full, on August 14, 2012, all of its issued and outstanding 6.85% Senior Notes due 2047 at the redemption price of 100% of the principal amount thereof, plus accrued and unpaid interest to but not including the Redemption Date. The Senior Notes are fully and unconditionally guaranteed as to payment of principal and interest by PPL.

QUANTUMONLINE.COM SECURITY DESCRIPTION: PPL Capital Funding Inc., 6.85% Senior Notes due 7/1/2047, issued in $25 denominations, redeemable at the issuer's option on or after 7/1/2012 at $25 per share plus accrued and unpaid interest, and maturing 7/1/2047. Distributions of 6.85% ($1.7125) per annum are paid quarterly on 1/1, 4/1, 7/1 & 10/1 to holders of record on the record date of 12/15, 3/15, 6/15 & 9/15 respectively (NOTE: the ex-dividend date is at least 2 business days prior to the record date). Distributions paid by these debt securities are interest and as such are NOT eligible for the 15% tax rate on dividends and is also NOT eligible for the dividend received deduction for corporate holders. Units are expected to trade flat, which means accrued interest will be reflected in the trading price and the purchasers will not pay and the sellers will not receive any accrued and unpaid interest. The Notes are unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the company and will rank equally with all existing and future unsecured and unsubordinated indebtedness of the company.
